The Holešovice Market is a listed complex with a unique atmosphere. It was established in 1895 as Prague’s central slaughterhouse. It served this purpose until 1983, when it was transformed into an urban market. In 1993 it earned the status of a cultural monument. In the preserved originally industrial buildings with elements of Art Nouveau and Neo-Renaissance, you will now find a large number of shops and dining facilities. In recent years, the complex has come back to life and is undergoing a considerable transformation. It is becoming a popular place to spend one’s free time, where Praguers go for cultural and culinary experiences. It is a centre of retail, services and the creative industry.
The current concept for the development of the Holešovice Market places an emphasis on community development, ecology and the support of local entrepreneurs.
There are several buildings and spaces suitable for corporate, social, cultural and sporting events. Exhibitions, festivals, conferences, theatres, and community and corporate events can find an ideal space here. One advantage of the complex is its excellent accessibility by public transport as well as parking opportunities.
